MTB has sent a team of six (6) “volunteers” or “representatives” to participate the SCB KL Marathon and they made it……….
Recalling the day when the news cascaded to us, Kah Yin invited us to join the race which we “stupid” enough to register ourselves. Since that day, we tried to manage our time and determination for simple exercise with the intent to complete the race. Most of us have some interesting story while preparing for the run, Ken has his body ache story, Cecilia has her medical leave story while Kah Yin has her treadmill story.
Though it’s only 5km for us, it is nonetheless a very tough run for us especially we have Cecilia who kept on telling us she has never run in her life, yet she made it and came back in 46 minutes, she has potential in running, believe that she could do better if she continues running. We also have Kah Yin whose legs could cramp easily even going for shopping but she did finish the run less than 50 minutes without any injury or cramp in her legs. Our new colleagues, Jaja, a former athlete with a pair of long legs completed the race within 45 minutes and Feera slowly walked towards the finishing line in 55 minutes. Not to forget the thorn amongst the roses, Ken, who has potential to be the Santa Claus in this coming Christmas finished the run by clocking 43 minutes.
Yes, we started it well and ended it well too, at least we completed the run! A great applause to our great achievement, well done, MTB team! Bravo………..
